The program consists of 7 priority axis. The total budget for the period 2000-2006 is 3.557,1 million EURO, out of which the public expenditure is the 2.136,2 million EURO.
The program has three strategic targets:

	The improvement of the competitiveness of the Greek agricultural sector in the view of the challenges raised from a
	very competitive international "environment"
	The sustainable and integrated development of the rural areas in order to improve their competitiveness and
	attractiveness as a living space which in turn will improve its social and financial functions
	The preservation and improvement of the environment and the natural resources of the rural areas

The above targets will be realized through a set of intermediary targets, which are accomplished through the 34 measures of the program.
